Jury Finds Defendant Guilty of First-Degree Murder, Insurance Fraud

An Idaho jury has reached a verdict in the triple murder trial of Chad Daybell, finding him guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of his ex-wife, Tammy Daybell, and his two stepchildren, Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan.

The verdict concludes a nearly two-month trial that began on March 27. After six hours of deliberations, the jury returned its decision on Friday afternoon.

Daybell, 54, was also found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder insurance fraud and an additional count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

The verdict marks a significant development in a case that has garnered national attention. Lori Vallow Daybell, Chad Daybell's wife, is also facing charges in connection with the deaths. Her trial is scheduled to begin later this year.
